Refund Policy

Cobuntu uses an escrow-based refund system to protect both buyers and sellers.

At Cobuntu, we want you to feel confident when purchasing digital products or event tickets from creators in our communities. To ensure fairness, we use an escrow-based refund policy. This means your payment is held securely in escrow for a specific period before it is paid out to the seller. While the funds are in escrow, you can request a refund.

Once the escrow period expires and funds are paid out to the seller, refunds are no longer available through the platform.

How to Request a Refund

Requesting a refund is simple and automated. You do not need to contact support or the seller if you are within the refund window.

  1. Log in to your Cobuntu account and navigate to your Library.
  2. Find the purchase you wish to refund and click the refund icon.
  3. The system will automatically verify if your purchase is still within the escrow window.
  4. If eligible, select a reason for the refund and submit your request.
  5. Your refund will be processed immediately.

Please note that it may take 5 to 10 business days for the refunded amount to appear on your bank or credit card statement, depending on your financial institution.

Important Notes

  • No Partial Refunds: All refunds processed through Cobuntu are full refunds (100% of the purchase price). We do not support partial refunds.
  • Leaving an Event: Leaving an event and requesting a refund are two separate actions. You can choose to leave an event without requesting a refund. If you want your money back, you must explicitly request a refund through your Library before the 7-day cutoff.
  • Loss of Access: When a refund is processed for a digital product, you will immediately lose access to the files. When a refund is processed for an event ticket, your registration will be cancelled and your spot may be given to someone else.

Exceptions and Disputes

Once the escrow period has passed, Cobuntu cannot process refunds, as the funds have already been transferred to the seller. If you believe you are entitled to a refund after the window has closed (for example, if a digital product was fundamentally misrepresented), you must contact the seller directly to resolve the issue.
